The human nervous system consists of a network of about 150 billion interconnected neurons. Bones protect the white and grey matter of the central nervous system located in the skull and the vertebrae, while we find the peripheral nervous system in softer body tissue. These systems cooperate and interact in a variety of ways. Generally speaking, the nervous system learns by doing, a process that facilitates neuroplasticity. We can call it a re-programmable information processing unit with high storage capacity that comes with some basic house-keeping functions.
